CBI Registers two Separate Cases Against Publlic Servants of NTPC & Postal Department and Others and Conducts Searches

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case on a complaint from Senior Superintendent of Post Office, Malwa Sambhag, Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) against then officiating Postal Assistant, Mahidpur Sub Post Office, Ujjain. It was alleged that during the period 2019 to 2020, the said official had forged withdrawal vouchers of 06 account holders of Mahidpur Sub Post Office and thereby fraudulently withdrawn the amount of Rs. 13.41 lakh (approx.) from the accounts of account holders, and thereby caused loss to the Post Office.

Searches were conducted today at two places located in Ujjain at the premises of accused.

CBI has registered another case on a complaint from GM (Vig.), Corporate Centre, NTPC, New Delhi against the then Manager (EE), NTPC, Khargone (Madhya Pradesh) & others including private persons and unknown persons. It was alleged that the public servant was misusing his official position and forcing vendors to work in partnership in NTPC, Khargone.

Searches were conducted at the premises of accused at Chatra (Jharkhand), Bhilwara (Rajasthan) and Indore (MP) which led to recovery of some incriminating documents.

Investigation in both the cases is continuing.
